Nonprofit organizations and state and local governments can apply for a portion of $322 million in funding to reduce unsheltered homelessness, including $54.5 million specifically for rural communities, the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced this week. The agency expects to award 125 grants through the Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness initiative, which strongly promotes partnerships with health care organizations.
