AHA Board of Trustees Chair Wright Lassiter kicked off the 2022 Leadership Summit by welcoming attendees to San Diego and introducing the panelists for AHA’s Town Hall event. Stacey Hughes, AHA executive vice president of government relations and public policy, moderated a discussion with Democrat Harold Ford Jr., former U.S. representative from Tennessee, and Republican Scott Jennings, former White House deputy director of political affairs to President George W. Bush, for a discussion on races to watch, key issues and political predictions. With all 435 House seats and 34 Senate seats on the ballot this November, the 2022 midterm elections will determine the balance of power in Congress and the fate of President Biden’s legislative agenda.
